Growing as a communicator and as a leader is all about learning and doing.
Pride is the worst enemy of growing and maturing. When we think we have arrived, when we think we have all the answers, when we think everything we do has to be original, is when we have stopped growing.
I learn from all sorts of people. But not only do I learn from them, I apply (do) what I learn.
This is how we at Barefoot Community Church got out of the ground so fast. Of course with God’s help… I’m not stupid, I always acknowledge Him as the ultimate source.
There's a vast sea of awesome communicators in the world that I live in and I learn from many of them. I steal ideas, sayings, and stories from all of them. Rick Warren once said, "If my bullet fits your gun - use it".
I think this is how most leaders and communicators feel about each other and themselves. We learn and use ideas from others and we want them to learn and use ideas from us.
I hope that Barefoot Community Church can bless half as many churches as we have been blessed by. God has been so gracious to us in our start up years. We are talking to and helping as many church planters as we can. All our info is free. We will tell and give anybody anything we have learned with no strings attached. If you are in the church world please use our stuff if you can. It’s not ours anyway… It’s God’s! We are only learning from others and being inspired by God.
