Romans...

Some thoughts as I study Romans Chapter 1 this morning…

1) Verse 5 – We tell people the Good News so they can believe and obey… SO THAT God gets the glory for His great love, grace and mercy.
2) Verses 8-9 – It’s all about making God’s name famous.
3) Verses 10-12- We are to use our spiritual gifts to build each others faith stronger.
4) Verses 13-15 – It is awesome to see people putting Christ in the center of their lives. When we see God use us, it keeps us on the move.
5) Verses 16-17 - Putting our faith in Christ has the power to save us and make us righteous before God.
6) Verses 18-31 - God hates sin (Our junk and funk). He gives us the power to overcome sinful habits in our lives, through faith.
If we decide to reject God, He we let us go our own way. He does not force us into a relationship with Himself… He invites us. He did this in a powerful way, dying on a cross. God put on skin so we could see His great love. He got on our level, but He will not force us to love Him back. How stupid could we be to reject a God who loves us this much? God does not send us to hell… we send ourselves, by rejecting him… bottom line.
7) Verse 32 - People who reject God want to take others down with them.

Awesome section. Actually God is on a rescue mission not a seek and destroy mission. We are already headed for hell because of our fallen nature. Why in the world do folks hide from the One who is seeking to rescue them? Sin has a powerful blinding affect. Christ came to seek and to save that which was already lost. Luke 19:10
