Growing up I often heard this phrase..."Stop showing your tail." Which meant stop acting up.
I believe great leaders show before they tell. I hear lots of people telling others what can be done but, they have never attempted the task themselves.
I believe great leaders model what they tell. Great leaders are willing to jump in and try things that they are telling others to do. They don't ask others to risk more than they are willing to risk.
Many people have theories on what a perfect church should look like, but they do not want to risk anything to show what they are telling. They are not leaders they are tellers... Great leaders walk by faith and show what they tell. In other words, they put action to the vision or the dream they have in their heart... they don't just talk about it, they walk by faith.
If we are not willing to show what we are telling then it is just a tale. Jump in and model what you want to happen, take a risk, make a mistake, do something... don't just tell without the show.
