Step Out...

We are finishing up a series we titled "Became" this week. God became one of us, so we could become all He created us to be. I have to ask myself daily... How am I doing? Am I reaching for my potential or am I being passive in my day. Becoming something takes hard work, relationships, and commitment. Constant mindfulness of where we are. Are you becoming? If not, what is holding you back?


On the flip side of this I have to ask myself... Am I stepping out like Jesus did to help others become all they can be? This is even harder, because it takes time, money, and effort to do this. When you step out, you risk everything... Resources, relationships, and reputation. People misunderstand you. You step in the deep water first, so others can see God work through you. I know every time I get ready to step out and do something God is asking, it is hard. As our church grows the stakes become higher. The risk are harder to take aren't they? More people are involved and more stuff is at risk... However, God is faithful and I pray that I would be the kind of leader and Barefoot would be the kind of church to step out, so others can step in.
