How often do we get distracted with the snake in the sand (I Experienced this morning on the beach) instead of the mission at hand (which was Working out and becoming stronger)... This happens all the time in our spiritual life we get focused on the enemy and get distracted from the mission and we don't grow because our focus has changed! God help me focus!

I am learning that no matter what comes my way - with God's help - I can go through it.

I felt overwhelmed by all the stuff that was calling to me. I began to skip some stuff I had committed to do for my spiritual and physical health in order to try and respond to the call of the urgent. God showed me two articles in Monday School that changed my week. You can see them at www.jimevans.tv.

Driving and thinking how I can make a God size difference in someone elses life, other than mine. Sure my life as my mind knows it says I need more. When I look in the mirror and the image looking back at me says "You need to DO more" I mean we have the greatest gift and opportunity right. We have eternaty as the finish line but have a lot of race still left in us. So Lord, as I look at myself give me the next task that you'll have me to DO for you, with a willing heart to please you and make a God size difference in someone's life. Amen
When you look in the mirror what do You see? May God bless your Image and reflect someone along your way so that you can make the same kind of difference and make everyday MONDAY SCHOOL.

I am learning to have patients and wait for God to reveal what it is that he wants me to do.

I was able to share this with my niece today. (She is going through a tough time that's very similar to a time I had in 10th grade):

"It was hard and hurtful, but God always...ALWAYS....has plans that are bigger than our own. He has a reason this has happened.....look for the blessing in it. It's there, you just may have to dig around for it."

Love Monday School.....isn't great how the message God puts in front of you isn't by chance at all?

Monday school took me for a loop this morning! I was in the process of writing a newsletter for my Boot Campers when it dawned on me that I was writing about Clay's comment above with the snake. I am always trying to get people to pay attention to their health and fitness because I know how it has changed my life and can change their life as well. You can't be all God created you to be if you're not taking care of the one most important thing that God gave you. That's right, I'm talking about your body. As Americans we put value on luxury cars, homes with meticulous landscaping, & other "toys". We also take great pride in having nice hair, expensive clothes, jewelry & getting our nails done on a regular basis. We use these material things to hide behind & cover up our emotional insecurities or other weaknesses. Only by changing the focus onto your body, mind, and spirit can you get back to the mission that God has planed for you. I pray that God will help me to be strong and help motivate others to greatness!

I am from NC but I visit Barefoot everytime I'm in N. Myrtle Beach at my dad's beach house. We brought someone to church with us yesterday, hoping that the sermon would touch their heart and they would give their life to Jesus. I don't know if this person was impacted, but I know that he is searching for something. Like Peter, he probably thinks he has an idea of what it is, but God has something entirely different in mind. I know I was very moved by the sermon. I am definitely searching for more of God and I am so thankful that His plans for me are far better than the limited plans I have for myself. As usual, anytime I answer a call to come a little deeper with the Lord, Monday school shows up in the form of a HUGE test that tries to steal the seed God plants on Sunday! I am learning in Monday school, to hold on to the seed and not let the enemy come to steal it before it takes root! As much as I HATE Monday school, it is the fire test that will make us come through as pure gold. Keep up the good work Barefoot!

I am learning that I can't fix everything that lies in my path. That is God's work. I need to pray for guidance rather than trying to control everything on my own.

I’m also from NC and we visit Barefoot when we come to the beach, and we are looking forward to it when we come in a few weeks - I’m also thankful for your Live broadcasts – I work with our student ministries at church and most of our activities are on Sunday evenings and during the week. Sunday mornings allows me to hear God’s message from two different places – and a lot of times it is God hitting me twice with the same points.
Monday school started of normal but then got difficult for me later on…. When there is a need - I’m the type that jumps in to find solutions quickly –but yesterday was one of those days where jumping in was not option – My wife, daughter and my nephew are in Malawi Africa – My wife called and told me about some spiritual battles going on. I wanted to be there and do something. Then a friend from Kenya wrote on his face book – “I’m Stressed” – I sent him a note to ask what was going on but no response – These folks do not have a PC in front of them like I do most of the day. And this friend like a lot of the folks in Kenya – look for work daily. Sometimes (well maybe most times) in my eagerness to jump in quickly – I get ahead of God… Monday school forced me to do the thing I’m less likely to do first - Stop, pray and trust Him.

I am learning that influence is a two-way force. We can influence people with a positive attitude and a positive direction or we can influence them with a negative attitude and a wrong direction.
It is also subtle. We are often unaware of the influences that move us or how we influence others by our speech or attitude.

blend
1. to mix smoothly and inseparably together: to blend the ingredients in a recipe.
2. to mix (various sorts or grades) in order to obtain a particular kind or quality: Blend a little red paint with the blue paint.
3. to prepare by such mixture: This tea is blended by mixing chamomile with pekoe.
4. to pronounce (an utterance) as a combined sequence of sounds.

May the aroma of our church, please you Lord and our scent be inviting to all who long for a good cup of Jo, a cup of Jehovah this is what barefoot church offers, this is what I learned in Monday school from this weekeds message, Amen. God Bless, Shane

I saw this book on Amazon (added to my ongoing wish list)that is all about the influence you talked about yesterday. The influence that changes lives that change the world.

"The Church of Irresistible Influence"
by Robert Lewis

An inspiring description and story showing how a church can become an irresistible influence on its neighborhood, community, and world by building bridges over troubled waters to a dying culture through showing the love of God in action.
