Power - (noun) - The ability to do or act; capability of doing or accomplishing something.
(verb) - To supply force to operate. To inspire; spur; sustain. To drive or push by applying power.
A team has power when all the members are reaching for potential. I believe God has called His team to be powerful. Not in the form of demanding, lording over, or forcing people to be something. God wants us to live our faith out and inspire the community with His power! Which is love, grace, and mercy!
This is done when all of us are asking the potential question. Am I doing my best? This is why potential is so important. If we are not doing this, our power is not at full capacity.
We have more power as a team. But a team that is not reaching for potential is not powerful... It actually can become weak, lazy, and stagnant. Let's keep encouraging each other to do our best. It is better for us, the team, and the Kingdom. We can accomplish something great, if we are striving for potential. Potential and power run on the same set of tracks!
What exercises are you doing to help you reach your potential? Let's talk about them!

A funny thing happened when my husband posted our WISH sign in front of our house (we live in a golf community in Sunset Beach, NC). This particular sign had the phrase “I wish he would stop working all the time”. Gene changed the HE to SHE since he is retired and I’m still working. Several of our neighbors saw the sign as a romantic gesture and wanted to know where to purchase one. Others got on the website to see what it was all about. Yet others, who saw all the signs in Little River, were exceptionally curious to know what the significance of all the signs was. We explained the website and the philosophy behind Barefoot Community Church, and the way everyone was participating to reach out in unique ways to embrace the communities surrounding the church this Christmas.
All of the feedback from my neighbors was very positive and many thought that this was a very unique, positive and powerful marketing strategy for the church.
I think this endeavor shows how effective it is to reach out in ways that require our church to “think outside of the box” to reach people in the community. This church team has the Power and the Potential to accomplish great things!
Roz, That's a cool story!!! Thanks for your insight and your participation in reaching the community! Clay
